Hoge Motor’s Journey with Delo!

Hoge Motors has been using Chevron’s Delo products since 2013 and have nothing but positive comments about their experience with the products. The trucking and transportation company was founded in 1963 by Lawrence Hoge.

Tommy Hoge, the co-owner of the Hoge Motors recently shared his testimonial on Delo products and has high praise for Delo. Tommy Hoge and his wife, Crystalee, represent the second generation of family ownership of Hoge Motor Company, founded by Tommy’s father Lawrence.

With their trucks averaging about a load of 80,000 Lbs and the temperatures reaching 105 degrees C, lubricants, especially coolants are critical to the truck performance.

Based north of Nashville in Springfield, Tennessee, the motor company owns and operates 40 cabs and hauls flat-bed freight, primarily aluminum and steel for manufacturing industry customers.

Chevron recently conducted a teardown of the engine and radiator to assess the performance of Delo heavy duty diesel engine oils and coolants.

As they transport materials to local plants, on-time dependability is critical to Hoge’s business. A delayed delivery can mean a production pause or even production shut down for their customer’s plants, having to wait for the material supply. Hauling heavy loads in very high temperatures, Hoge Motors needs lubricants they can rely on to maximize the uptime. Tommy’s confidence in Delo products is truly unparalleled.

Using the new API CK-4 Delo® 400 XLE 10W-30 with ISOSYN® Advanced Technology, as well as Delo® ELC extended life coolant. Chevron tore down one of Hoge Motor Company’s MP8 engines that had a mileage of 550,000 miles.

The condition of the engine and cooling system components provide a vivid demonstration of Delo’s piston deposit control, oxidation stability and anti-wear protection properties.
